PRONUNCIATION TIPS
Italian is a phonetic language, meaning words are pronounced as they are spelled. Here are a few key rules to help you sound more natural:

Vowel Sounds:
A – “ah” (as in car) → Pasta (PAH-stah)
E – “eh” (as in bet) → Espresso (eh-SPRESS-oh)
I – “ee” (as in pizza) → Pizza (PEE-tsah)
O – “oh” (as in note) → Molto (MOHL-toh)
U – “oo” (as in boot) → Tutto (TOOT-toh)

C & G Sounds:
C + I or E = soft “ch” sound → Ciao (CHOW), Cena (CHAY-nah)
C + A, O, U = hard “k” sound → Casa (KAH-zah), Cuore (KWOH-ray)
G + I or E = soft “j” sound → Gelato (jeh-LAH-toh)
G + A, O, U = hard “g” sound → Gatto (GAH-toh), Guida (GWEE-dah)

Rolled R’s & Double Letters:
Italian "R" sounds are slightly rolled (Roma, Arrivederci). If you can’t roll it, just soften the sound!
Double letters change meaning! Hold the sound slightly longer:
